Write characters to Device Dax

Hi everyone. I am a student and new to Persistent Memory programming. As a part of my academic assignment, I was asked to write a simple C/C++ to write some characters to Device dax using

1. mmap

2. PMDK library - libpmem

I have gone through the syntaxes in both the cases but I am not sure how to write character by character as it is Device dax. Please correct me if my understanding is wrong. And anyone, could you please guide me in finding answers for these questions? Thanks in advance.
