I like to have dividend excess cash invested before the next ex dividend date. Perhaps I waited too long on this reinvestment for I seem to remember VZ and T were cheaper last month.

Let me be a bit astrology, horoscope, science fiction type here.

For my youth, I saved my money earned in work, mostly painting houses. And by the time I graduated from college it amounted to $4,500. in 1972. It remained that amount for a decade until out in Moab, Utah I finally invested the $4,500 in the mid 1970s by buying 10 acres in the LaSal Mountains. I was young and as all young are dreamers, for I dreamed of a black walnut grove. Idealistic dreamers. For I sold the property a few years later out of necessity for I was moving and could not care for property far away.

So the number 4500 stuck in my head for much of my youth. And surprisingly, this number of digits 4-5---- seems to stick with me later in life.

So, I do not place much value in superstition or horoscope or astrology or pseudoscience, but am interested in whether there is a physics or math constant of value of 4--5---.

Looking up the constants there is what is called Van der Pauw constant of pi/(Ln2) which is about 3.14/0.69 =4.5.....

and in physics this constant deals with Resistance in electricity. 

I could say that in my youth with $4,500. and now here in old age of 45,000 that I do seem to feel a psychological resistance barrier facing me. So in finance and money and economics, the digits 4-5-- seem to be a focus of resistance.

With excess cash, bought 50 shares MRK at 113.96. And bought 70 shares BMY at 58.70.

I need some diversification. Most of my life has been spent on telecoms and pharma. Dividends are extremely important for me, especially in old age. I am excited with the advances in cancer treatments.

I am hoping some drug companies start looking into drug research that gets the body cleaned out of the microplastics accumulating in human bodies. There was a recent news clip of soaring large-intestine-colon cancer among young people. I wonder if that rise in colon cancer is due in part to microplastics.

I think the drug companies should start researching how they can clean out our bodies of microplastics.

So, well, MRK and BMY climbed nicely in the past 3 months will T and VZ declined. So, today I sold 20 MRK at 128.21 and sold 30 BMY at 61.43 and with the proceeds bought 200 AT&T at 21.93 a share. I missed the ex dividend of T at 10 July.

But this is classical VonNeumann Optimal Strategy. You see, not only do I play the market with paper dollars, but with stock itself as a currency. For 3 months ago I bought BMY at around 59. and MRK at around 114. while AT&T at that time was 27 or above.

In VonNeumann Optimal Strategy, the one objective is to own more shares tommorrow than before. Use paper money, like dividends to increase shares, but use shares to run switch campaigns to increase shares.

So, I am 190 shares away from 45,000.
