When we start the history of Warfare, we start it with Caveman times when agriculture was just beginning to start.

And the earliest warfare was more of a Occupation, a job, a learned-trade, a career. For it involved stealing and rape of other people. In other words legitimize murder, for in Caveman times there was no government, no laws, no justice no courts.

Brutal people banded together to steal from faraway other people, steal what they had, rape their women, eat their stores then move on to do the same thing over and over.

Now, that was Caveman times, but that occupation of warring was so good, that it continued on to the times of Alexander the Great.

Alexander the Great was no caveman mentality, but the same reason of plunder a neighbor as a occupation in life. And become famous as a side benefit.

Alexander the Great to France's Napoleon is the same old model as Caveman war--- neighbors have something, take a army and steal what they have and become famous in the act. War as a occupation as a career, which much adventure, glamour, and only one downside-- you could lose your life.

The USA is in its 250 anniversary celebration of the American Revolutionary War. It does not feel like a war as a career, but a war of liberation. But for England, well, it was a subjection to steal the wealth of the colonies. And although it had no charismatic English leader, it was Caveman war that just "stayed too long".

The USA Civil War in 1860s does not have the pattern of Caveman army raid to steal from those that have something worth stealing. It was a war over slavery. It was a brutal war. But was it a Caveman war of stealing from neighbors in order to enrich oneself?? The North fought the South because the South threatened the North with its practice of slavery. And threatened the North by splitting away as a separate country.

Was the 1860s Civil War a Caveman mentality war?? It was a war of Ideals--- slavery is bad and slipping apart is bad. One can argue it was a Caveman war but only tenuously.

Now we reach the two World Wars. And in modern times we can make all sorts of arguments that WW1 and WW2 were caused by all sorts of different things but certainly not that of --- A career army existing to steal from neighbors as a way of life. Reasons like entangled alliances, like tariffs, trade wars, economic hardships, depression, hyper inflation.

But, if we peel back all those layers, can we not say that WW1 and especially WW2 is because countries had permanent militaries and used them to steal from neighbors in times of hardship. A Hitler that emerges in WW2, is he not just a Alexander the Great that failed or a Napoleon that failed??

By the time of Korean War and then the Vietnam War, are those Caveman Wars where it is easier in life to war and steal from neighbors than it is to make a living the normal way??

Which brings us to Netanyahu in Israel and Putin in Russia who see their neighbors with land worth stealing plus, plus the added bonus of being in the history books as great as King David of Ancient Israel or as great as Peter the Great of Russia. Where Netanyahu genocides or displaces 5 million Palestinians and Putin causes the death of 2 million male Russians for the opportunity of Putin written in history books of Putin the Great.
