It started in year 2024? where I requested a refund of $3700, but was told over the telephone by a lady at the IRS, that they can only refund the moneys which I paid in for that year alone, not applied money in previous years. For I had usually instructed that "Apply to Next Year". She told me I could only get $1500 refund for the $2,200 was applied from previous years.

This caused me a gloomy crisis because I could no longer depend on "APPLY to Future Year". It had become a obsolete and throw away selection.

So I decided to "not apply to next year" but request a refund.

The greatest time waster is now this Direct Deposit and where the IRS has allied itself with ID.me account which the IRS says it uses.

So, today, 27May, I spent 4 hours downloading my drivers license, yet the outfit never SAVED my downloads.

Are they expecting me to download pictures every time I log on???????????????????????????????????????????????????

Then, I thought I was finished with ID with my drivers license. NO they wanted a face Video taking 5-10 minutes. I tried at least 4 times, thinking the phone reception was causing the video to never "go through". Another waste of 2 hours.

So I am thinking. Does the IRS ID.me expect me to spend 10 minutes of Downloads, every time I open my account?????????????????????????????????????

Then to top it off, Walmart emails me, 5:13 pm (right in the middle of trying to set up this ID.me account) that I had purchased $39 dollars of trail mix to be delivered to Monroeville OH 44847. Which I NEVER did. Walmart then emailed me it was canceled. But I bring this issue up, because, Did ID.me which I was trying to open an account to talk to the IRS, did ID.me transmit my email address to Walmart and that is the awful reason of a false order??????????????????????

So I am trying to open a IRS account to tell them my Direct Deposit account to receive my Refund.

In total, AP loses on this day 27May2026, 6 hours of trying to open an account with IRS, and absolutely no luck and on top of that--- Walmart falsely accuses me of making a order. It maybe the case that the Walmart false order is coincidental to my trying to open a IRS account to tell them direct deposit details. But the Walmart email is so Bizarre that I feel ID.me is the source of that false order.

And the idea that everytime I open ID.me, I have to spend 20 minutes in downloads of pictures.

My refund check for 2025 is a meager amount, less than $500, so I ask a question--- Since all of my deposits to the IRS is via Mail, why cannot the IRS give me my refund via MAIL, which I am used to. I send the IRS 4 times a year Estimated Taxes all by mail. Why cannot the IRS respond by a mailed check since I have to mail 4 times a year.

Increasingly, more and more the Government is ruining and destroying HOURS and Days out of my life and many others.

I remember decades back where Social Security set up a email account. But then, a few months later, SS wanted me to change the Passcode every 3 months. And when they demanded that--- I completely gave up on the Social Security on the internet. I could barely remember the passcode and here they want me to change it every 3 months?????????????????????????????????????????????

Someone needs to CLEAN UP all the accounts between government and private citizens.

They spend more time worried about hackers that it makes Online Accounts totally impractical as it wastes the time of millions of people across the USA.

And when  I call up the IRS to arrange a in person appointment, or even speak to a live person not a robot, is becoming almost impossible.

AP writes:: I can see the advantage the IRS wants in having Direct Deposit, but, well, If I send 4 times a year a check, the IRS should keep its MAILING out checks once a year.

This recent letter to me demanding Direct Deposit gives me 30 days, and so far--- 1/2 that time was spent in the nightmare of ID.me and talking to robots on the phone.

Perhaps the ID.me is actually the government entering your iphone or computer as they say they need a VIDEO, but that is perhaps a planting of a virus into your computer or iphone so that the government can look at everything on your phone.

AP suspects:: ID.me + IRS is actually ICE-- looking for illegal immigrants.

When I gave my drivers licence to ID.me I expected to be talking immediately to the IRS, no longer ID.me. Instead, ID.me wanted this silly FACIAL video of me, taking 5-10 minutes.

I suspect that such was ICE taking pictures, and then they looking through your entire phone, even planting viruses if they felt like it, or charging Trail Mix to your account.

I am going to keep track from now on of Where the government interfaces with private citizens and demanding of hours and days out of your precious lifetime to fool around with government accounts--- spying on you and just harrassing the daylight out of you. Opening a account that is rigged so you never can open it, and completely wasting your time.

Question:: Was Jimmy Kimmel given a letter by the IRS for something or other????? Was James Comey given a letter from IRS asking him to open a account with ID.me+IRS. Was Stephen Colbert given a recent letter by IRS requiring him to set up a ID.me+IRS account? Was Gavin Newsom given a recent letter from IRS asking him to set up a ID.me+IRS account????????

AP wants to have a Direct Deposit account with the IRS. But I am not going to throw away a year of my life in setting up a ID.me.

For all I need to do is tell the IRS two numbers for Direct Deposit.

But the IRS in their letter is telling my ---- waste a year of your life in setting up ID.me so you finally can talk to a human, not a robot....

Recently there was news about some tech company furious over the way the USA government is using their engineering. The company Anthropic I believe is the name.

Perhaps what the government is doing is using Anthropic for its ID.me platform, so that when the applicant supplies his/her driver license, then ID.me requires the applicant to provide a facial video taking 5 to 10 minutes and that is where the chip comes in and copies all the data on you cellphone for the ICE agents to look over, and then Walmart charges you $39 for Trail Mix you never ordered but ID.me giving Walmart your email address.

Maybe ICE out of Minneapolis, is now focused more on getting IRS to set up accounts ID.me in order to deport millions more Americans.

Yes, troubles starte in 2024 from the 2023 tax year. I had a loss in 2023 of my business and was wanting a refund of not only 2023 estimated taxes but for prior years of "Apply to next Year". When I called the IRS, the lady told me that I can only get a refund of the taxes paid for in 2023 and not any of the prior year Apply to Next Year. This was upsetting to me as it meant I could never apply to future years--- what is the point if it is money in limbo.

So in 2023 tax year I requested a refund of $3714.

I am looking at 2024 tax year to see if they have Bank Account # and Routing number---- THEY DO.

Then they have a line saying "Amount of line 34 you want applied to your 2025 estimated tax"

I wish I had checked that box, or supplied the Bank Account#.

If I had done that, I would not have lost 6 hours out of my life on 27May and more hours to lose until this is all straightened out.

The ID.me is a time wasting platform that destroys your hours in life, and where you have to go to an IRS office to solve the problem.

I do very much believe that ID.me is ICE, especially when they force you to do a FACIAL video.

Someday I am going to figure out why some nights are easy at moving around photos while other nights are a disaster. Maybe it all depends on who is on night shift at Apple and who on Google. So, I think a excellent solution to this problem would be to send the IRS in June 2026 a 1040 form which on line 36 says: "Amount of line 34 you want applied to your 2026 estimated tax."

And then in 2027, as I am doing 2026 tax year, list my bank and routing number on the 1040 so I do not go through this nightmare again.

Yes, the IRS phones have only a robot talking. Never giving me a actual human representative. They tell me "high volume,... , please try again later".

The ID.me is stuck with a FACIAL video that never goes through, and where I end up having Walmart charge me for Trail Mix of $39. to Monroeville OH 44847. Which Walmart promptly canceled--- all of which transpired while trying to open a Account with ID.me+IRS.

So I decided this ID.me+IRS was destroying hours of my time in life, and getting nowhere plus, being falsely charged.

So I decided to make an appointment with a actual human at IRS a nearby office. But it looks as though that avenue is off also, with

So, well, what I am going to do is photocopy my 2025 tax 1040 form, photocopy my recent IRS letter saying I have 30 days to straighten out the Direct Deposit numbers for my 2025 refund, but where it is impossible to open an account using ID.me.

Hence, AP will send the June Estimated 2026 tax mail-in with APPLY MY 2025 tax refund, on line 36, APPLY that refund for my 2026 taxes.

During the ID.me attempt to open a Account, someone or robot texted me saying this:

I feel that it is ICE that is all of ID.me and they are playing a game with private citizens of the USA. Wasting hours and days out of the life of ordinary citizens in the USA.

AP asks the question: What if the IRS kept all the money sent to them-- No refunds to anyone---???? Would it make any difference on the USA Deficit?? Or are refunds just a tiny tiny drop in the bucket compared to the National Deficit????

AP asks another question: Is DIRECT DEPOSIT also can be turned into DIRECT WITHDRAWAL from you bank account by the IRS??????? In other words, does Trump's Big Beautiful Bill allow for the IRS to have Direct Withdrawal from everyone's bank account in case of a National Emergency--- such as --- the USA dollar no longer the International currency-- but instead the BRIC's making the Chinese Yuan the replacement currency.

AP further asks:: What if in a currency crisis where the Yuan replaces the dollar, if the USA govt steps in and withdraws the entire bank money's of all USA banks, would that pay off completely the trillions of dollars of US current DEBT??? If every dollar in every bank in the USA would be confiscated by the USA govt in its Great Big Beautiful Bill, leaving no US citizen with any money in the bank--- would that make the govt Debt be zero????

Searching on Google says the National Debt will reach 39 Trillion dollars by May 2026 or $113,792 per person in the USA.

No, I doubt that if every person in the USA, their bank account confiscated by the government would make the debt be zero. But rather instead, in such an emergency where the Yuan replaces the US dollar as international currency. That if the government CONFISCATED all USA companies of their stocks, that would cause the 39 trillion dollar debt to disappear.

The biggest losers in that would be the rich folk, and leaving all the bank accounts in place.

In other words, to get rid of a 39 trillion debt, the govt does not touch bank accounts. But swallows whole, every big business in the USA.

There is a word concept for the govt taking over the 500 largest USA companies. It is called Communism and when done crudely and brutally is called a fascist dictator and that is going to be the fate of the USA as it continues to build a higher debt. I doubt that a Freedom loving USA, can bear the weight of a 50 trillion deficit and would collapse into Communism of its own accord.

Dear IRS, thanks very much for today received your letter with a refund, not of my 2025 but apparently of my older request of 2023 refund for $3714. Your letter said I will receive an explanation shortly. Thanks, some progress.

I probably could improve my Estimated tax calculations, so as to align better and not have these refund battles.

I am going to write this book and publish it as a Log book of when I lose time out of my life, due to the interface of a bureacracy, computers, and precious time of my life to write science books, not spend a 6 hour day trying to get a Facial video into ID.me + IRS.

I am still trying to schedule an appointment but the robot keeps telling me-- "too busy-- try again later".

If all fails, I will send in my June Estimated tax with a Amend my 2025 1040 and apply the refund to 2026. If I cannot reach a human at IRS, I am fated to correct the problem in that manner. All I need to do is give two numbers for Direct Deposit, but all I get is robots answering.

Do not mind my sense of humor, after losing 6 hours out of my life on 27 May with ID.me + IRS. 

Trouble with Internet a huge bureaucracy and private citizens is that if a private citizen is not up to date on browsers and on software, then trying to set up an account with ID.me+IRS can lead to hours lost.

I am going to post pictures of my teeth to this book.

A picture of some of my cats as a comedy spoof of the ID.me verification process that I lost 6 hours out of my life.

The point is,--- is it feasible for every taxpayer American to have a Account set up on their computer with the IRS?????? Is it feasible????? I think it should have been Optional, not mandatory. I say that especially because I mail in 4 times a year a tax Estimation using mail postage, and in return, if I have a refund, the IRS would need to mail me just 1 time a year, a check in the mail.

And I wonder, if the ID.me is actually ICE and several other agencies such as FBI which could easily have planted a virus in your computer that can read all your email if they wanted to. For taking that FACIAL video takes 5-10 minutes, plenty of time to sneak a Stucknet virus that the government can read all your email. And like the Social Security account that wants users to change passcodes every 3 months.

The government should stop, sit down and ask some questions--- having every American an account with the ID.me+IRS practical, or invasive, and ill-suited.

You can still have the Direct Deposit. But an account with the IRS that is your email address seems a bit abnormal. As can be seen by me--- Where Walmart in Ohio, as I was applying to ID.me, charged me $39 in Trail Mix as I was trying to set up the account in ID.me, and luckily Walmart canceled the order-- and order I never placed.
