Dear Colleagues and Friends,
I have the opportunity to recruit a research technologist (scientific software engineer) within my FIS3 project at SISSA (Trieste, Italy).
The position will primarily involve scientific software development within the PLUMED project, a widely used open-source package for enhanced-sampling molecular simulations. The successful candidate will contribute to the implementation, optimization,
testing, and maintenance of computational methods used in molecular simulations, with particular attention to performance, scalability, and software quality.
The position is funded for up to five years.
Candidates are not expected to have expertise in all relevant areas. We welcome applications from individuals with backgrounds in molecular simulations, computational chemistry, biophysics, computational physics, scientific computing, or related fields.
Strong programming skills and an interest in scientific software development are essential. Experience with C++, parallel programming, numerical methods, or software engineering practices is particularly welcome.
This position is especially suitable for candidates who enjoy working at the interface between scientific research and software development, contributing tools that are used by a broad international community.
Further details and an expression-of-interest form are available here:
I would be very grateful if you could forward this announcement to colleagues, students, or researchers who might be interested.
Many thanks in advance,
Giovanni Bussi
