A Letter from Tony Dear Friend, 

I wanted to reach out and personally thank you for your commitment to contribution and your dedication to making a difference to those in need. I’m honored that you have chosen to align with The Tony Robbins Foundation and its beneficiaries as a way to give back. There are many people and organizations throughout the world that need caring individuals like you, and I’m passionate about making a difference in the areas that really matter. The Foundation has products and programs estimated to be in more than 2,000 schools, 1600 prisons, and 100,000 health and human service organizations. My passion for contribution comes from my own experience growing up. For me, money was always out of reach as a child. It was always a source of stress because there was never enough of it. I remember having to knock on the neighbor’s door to ask for food for my brother, sister and me. Then, on Thanksgiving Day when I was 11 years old, something happened that changed my life forever. As usual, there was no food in the house and my parents were fighting. I heard someone knocking at the front door. I opened it a crack and saw a man standing on the steps with grocery bags filled with enough food for a big Thanksgiving dinner. I could hardly believe it. My father always said that nobody cared, but all of a sudden someone I didn’t know, who wasn’t asking for anything in return, was looking out for us. It made me think, strangers do care. And I decided that I was going to find a way, somehow, someday, to give back and pay it forward. That’s why I created The Tony Robbins Foundation over 20 years ago. The International Basket Brigade is a 100% volunteer based program that provides baskets of food and household items to millions of underprivileged individuals throughout the world every year. After 20 years, I've learned that the benefits of giving and sharing are beyond tangible. Life produces extraordinary rewards for those who give in extraordinary ways. So as you move forward on your life's journey, growing in contribution, I wish for your continued joy, success and fulfillment in every aspect of your life.

Here are a few helpful reminders as you begin to prepare for your own Brigade: Reach out to your veteran volunteers and ask them to help find new volunteers.  Remember a commitment in writing gets results. Find a core team of volunteers committed to creating a successful event(s).  Download the newly updated Basket Brigade Coordinator Handbook to help with recruitment efforts, sample forms, preparing for your Brigade and more.  Once you have expanded your team, maximize results by identifying participants' special talents and guide them in forming committees that will let them shine! Share your Basket Brigade successes on social media and include #BasketBrigade to help encourage social shares.  Do you have any other helpful tips to share?
