Dear Friends 

The 10th annual conference of South Asia Research and Information Institute in co-sponsorship with Southern Methodist University's Asian Studies will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2015. For more details, see http://www.sarii.org/temples.html . The abstracts of presentations and speakers' bios are available at  http://www.sarii.org/2015abstracts.html .  

As one can see from the abstracts of the talks and bios, this year’s conference is focused on Tamil Nadu. Eminent scholars will speak about different aspects of the history of the famous temples in Madurai, Chidambaram, Srirangam, Tirupparankunram, and Tiruccentur including social changes, government interventions, priests, worshippers, rituals, and deities and roles of women from ancient times to the present. As such, this conference should be of interest to MTS membership. I would appreciate if you could distribute this information to your members and encourage them to register and attend.

Seats are limited. Free lunch is provided only to those who register by Sunday, October 4, 2015.
