Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have recommendations regarding the state laws? Is the standard Peter Swire textbook from IAPP enough? If not, how did you tackle individual state laws and are there better resources out there?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi Jackie,

There are only 5-7 questions about state law on this year's exam (https://iapp.org/media/pdf/certification/CIPP_US_EBP_2.3.1.pdf) so counterintuitively it's not worth putting a ton of effort into that area and the 3rd edition Peter Swire book is enough. If you have the 2nd edition Peter Swire book, you'll need to add an overview of California's Consumer Privacy Act.

Cheers,
Kim
