Dear Friends,

On Sunday April 14th, there will be a youth led vigil at the Trident
Sub Base here in Poulsbo WA in support of our friends in Scotland. We
will gather at Ground Zero Center for Nonviolent Action (GZ) at 1PM.
Directions to GZ can be found on their web site at: http://www.gzcenter.org/

A few words here from the Faslane Peace Camp: On 13-15th of April,
there will be an unprecedented demonstration in Glasgow and mass
blockade of Faslane with Scrap Trident and we expect this to be the
beginning of a new wave of anti-nuclear and anti-militarist action.
The future is disarmament!

If you desire a ride to GZ or would like to car pool, please gather
with us at Jean’s House of Prayer at the Tacoma Cather Worker at
Noon.

After three trips to Scotland I have come to the motivating truth that
most people of the world do not want to kill each other. The vast
majority of people of the world want their children to be able to live
life to its fullest potential. No matter what the obstacles to human
interaction, the human connection of all people runs as a conduit of
energy in a subterranean layer of our earth.

It was heartening to see that the ecumenical voice of the Church of
Scotland, Baptists, Catholics, and Quakers has been a strong moving
force in opposing the Trident Nuclear Sub system. Today, 75% of the
people of Scotland oppose this system of mass destruction. I was
inspired to bring this spirit of resistance back to our Pacific
Northwest. We have to realize that we are all part of a global
community. The dream we share in common - the need for a world without
nuclear weapons - can continue to grow and flow back and forth across
the water that separates us.

Youth Led Vigil – April 14th at Bangor

Ground Zero Center for Nonviolent Action welcomes young people from
St. Leo Church, Tacoma and all other youth and adults who will be
joining them. This group has come together to plan an event at the
Bangor Sub base in witness to the immorality of nuclear weapons. Peace
Keepers from GZ will assist all who come and vigil. We will gather at
1 PM at the GZ Center. At 1:15, after an opening circle, we will walk
down to the base Main Gate where there will be a vigil in witness
against nucle3ar weapons. Young people will lead those assembled in
songs and prayers. Following the vigil (around 3PM) we will walk back
to the GZ Center for a closing circle. Note: This is a vigil only – no
resistance actions are planned for this event.

Please join us also in support of the youth of our community who have
organized this vigil.
