Plover 5.0 Doesn't Work on Macs Running High Sierra (Mac OS 10.13.6)

So when I discovered that there was a new build of Plover, I compressed  the old version while downloading the new version, only to find that the new version doesn't work with Mac OS High Sierra. Good thing I didn't delete the old build!
