Stentura 8000

Has anyone managed to connect a Stentura 8000 (not the 8000LX) to Plover on Windows 10? I have tried the following:—

Used the serial cable and RB-232 USB adapter specifically recommended for stenotypes
Downloaded the drivers from CoolGear’s website
Checked COM ports
Used a USB 2.0 hub
Tried Plover vv. 3 and 4
Tried baud rates 2400 and 9600

And no luck. Computer is a Surface Pro 4.

Did any other Stentura 8000 owners have particular trouble?
