Stenograph Wave

I can use Plover with the QWERTY keyboard, but for some reason can't get it to work with my Wave. Everything is checked, dictionaries loaded, configuration done. Any help? Anything further I need to do?

Hey Hannah,

At the moment the Wave will only work with Plover while in serial mode (as opposed to the USB connection). Plover must be configured to the Stentura protocol to interface with it.

If you don't have a serial connection, you can try an experimental build of Plover which may or may not work with the Wave (you could let me know!):

Experimental Stenograph support ← you'll have to select the "Stenograph" machine protocol.

What is your configuration? I use my Wave with Plover. I check Stentura, then scan for the com port, 9600 baud rate, 8 - 1- N, timeout 2 seconds, all other boxes unchecked.

The Wave will work with the current version of Plover. You have to set the machine to serial mode (can't remember the name it it - basically the one that isn't "Mira" mode).  This means it will create a virtual COM port, so you can look in Device Manager to see what that is. When you configure your machine in Plover you select the Stentura (Stenograph?) protocol and the right COM port. And Bob's your uncle, it will work.

I set my Wave to test mode and use the USB cable. I don't know if it made a difference but I also downloaded the drivers for it from Stenograph. I doubt it affected anything. But I don't have to use anything other than my USB cable.
