displaying steno strokes?

Is there an option in the exciting Plover to display actual steno strokes as well as the English translation?  So I can see what I have stroked and "read back"?

Yup! Most recent Plover Blog post about this very thing:

You just need to use tail (or Baretail, if you're on Windows).

on June 4, I  have BareTail for Windows, but how do I set it up to display my steno strokes?   I'm floundering.

So open BareTail, then use it to open plover.log, which should be located in:

C:\Users\WHATEVERYOURWINDOWSUSERNAMEIS\AppData\Local\plover\plover\plover.log

And that should do the trick. (':
