I believe the Stenograph Wave and Diamante use virtual com ports as both only have a USB connection. At any rate, my virtual com port is installed (I'm using Windows 7), and it does connect through that virtual port using the Stentura protocol on a commercial CAT software package. Unfortunately, Plover does NOT work through the virtual port. Am I the only one without success?

Any help/advice/suggestions are much appreciated.

Hi Pete,

Could you describe what do and what happens? When you go into the configuration dialog while the machine is plugged in, do you see a com port to select?

Hesky

At first, Plover did not list the virtual com port, but once I typed it in, it was fine and did not complain--unless I attempted to change it. If I go back to the Plover configuration, the com port is listed. For what it's worth, that com port is listed in the Device Manager (as Com4, if that makes any difference).

To elaborate further, once I configured Plover the com port (com 4 as listed in the Device Manager) and the Stentura protocol, Plover accepts this and keeps it in the configuration. When I run Plover for steno input, it outputs nothing. Hope this helps.

That's unfortunate.

When I get back from vacation I will borrow a wave and debug it.
