In addition to what Theodore said on the Plover side, on the Wave, go into Setup > Options > and make sure that "USB Communication" is set to Standard not Mira. It will work with plover - mine does.

I believe with the Wave you will need to use the Stentura protocol option in Plover. Then, in the machine configuration window, scan the COM ports to see what your options are. If you have multiple choices, you can look in device manager to try and figure out which one is your steno machine. It is important that the machine creates a COM port, because we don't support USB-protocol (non-COM) in Plover yet. Maybe someone else with a Wave knows more.

I have installed Plover 3.0. I am on Windows 10. My steno writer is the Wave, and I use the Phoenix Theory Dictionary. When I configured, I selected TX Bolt which shows it's connected but text does not appear on my machine. When I configure to keyboard, I do get text output.Am I missing something?I can write text to a program using CC with output to Steno Keys. Hoping to use Plover for transcription work.Thanks.

What you see up there was the result of a young mom who turned her back for "just a sec" on her toddler, who immediately took that opportunity to grab the (open) bottle of baby powder and started walking towards her writer ... and before mom could get to him, he gave that bottle a few good shakes, and ... well. You can see what happened!
If I recall correctly, she took her writer to her school to show the techs what happened. They were amazed, because they had never seen anything like that before! They, in turn, took it to the local steno repair company, who had also never seen anything quite like that, but he was so amazed that he cleaned her writer for her at no charge -- but I'm sure he took a lot of pictures during the process!
Hopefully yours will be an easier fix ... good luck!
