Hi plover community,
Here i share the modified plover i use to do french stenography based on
the Grandjean V layout.
The plover.exe is hosted on
https://github.com/azizyemloul/plover-france-dict with some dictionaries
files for french.
You will find on that page some explanations about the layout, and basic
elements of the theory. All is in french, i'm sorry about it, but i will
try to give some explanation in english if needed. Please, try to
understand what is written in the README file.
The theory is straight forward for french and should be the same for
spanish. I know that some people use Grandjean layout for english but i
don't feel authorized to talk about it.
If you are interested to see the sources take a look at
https://github.com/azizyemloul/plover-france.
The main files involved in this transformation are :
plover/steno.py
machine/francais.py
plover/orthography.py
assets/france_french_words.txt
I suppose that the plover design implicate a kind of plover theory. I invite
people interested by the Grandjean layout in plover to take a look at
the code, try to understand it and play with it.
From now on, my efforts will be to build a reasonable set of
dictionaries respecting the Grandjean theory for french but i'm afraid
that this path will reach some limits.
I hope that this work will give you some perspectives...
Cheers,
