I am happy to announce the publication of my new book Scientists, Experts, and Civic Engagement: Walking a Fine Line, published by Ashgate. The book includes chapters contributed by seven colleagues and collaborators (some of whom many of you know), as we consider the fine lines between public scholarship, civic engagement, and activism, and the ways we might do scholarly work that enriches our communities.
And for those of you who are local, please save the date for our book launch event, Thursday, March 12 at 3:30 PM in the Bea Fields Alumni House on the Tulane University Uptown campus at 6319 Willow Street. I will send out more details about the book launch closer to the date. We will be selling a few copies of the book at the launch event, at the 50% discount price.
Attached you will find a flier with more information about the book, and you can order the book directly from the publisher at a 50% discount:
Go to http://www.ashgate.com/isbn/9781472415240 and use discount code 50BDH14N. (Please note: For shipping purposes, if you are in North or South America, make sure that you click on "Go to North and South American site" if that appears in the upper right. If it says "Go to Rest of the World site" that means you are already on the N. and S. America site.)
I hope to see you at the book launch in March.
Best,
Amy
