Hi again,

Once the issues are transferred, I would like to make the Plotinum -> gonum/plot move official. I plan to do this by linking to gonum/plot from the Plotinum landing page and by sending an announcement to golang-nuts and Go+.

In the announcement, I will say that Plotinum is moving to gonum/plot; the move has been in planning for almost two years now. Members of gonum (myself included, but mostly others) are already making enhancements and bug fixes. However, with the move, we also expect to make some API changes. Plotinum's code.google.com repo will be available until the site is officially taken down, so feel free to keep using it until ready to switch.

Should I mention anything else?

Could we move the wiki to gonum/plot or otherwise save the plotinum wiki? It’s very useful.

Yes. There is a converter that can convert the wiki to markdown for github. Anyone can hg clone https://code.google.com/p/plotinum.wiki and do the conversion. So feel free to give it a try.

Two issues I found:
1) it converts the wiki to a file on the local file system and I don't see how to upload a wiki article to github from a file.
2) the images will eventually need to be hosted somewhere. They can probably be moved to github, but as far as I can see it would have to be done manually.

I'll plan to send the announcement this weekend, after the wiki is converted.

That's done.

I left the links to the googlecode images since it's not entirely clear
to me how to upload an image without committing it to the repo. That can
be fixed later.

I've done code massage, so it should match the current API, but I didn't
test that it builds. This should be done.

For those that come later. What you do is clone the wiki repo (bottom
right of window "Clone this wiki locally"). Then commit the images to
that repo and push back. I put the images in a directory "images" for
neatness.

Thanks, Dan. This is great. I'll change the Plotinum landing page and send an announcement out soon.

By the way, I renamed the 'Design' article and added a note mentioning that it's an old doc describing our original plan for moving Plotinum to gonum/plot. Feel free to add, delete, or otherwise change it.

Dan, I assigned you to the issue about moving the wiki so that it's documented that you did it. I also took the liberty of closing the issue since it appears to be done.

I think there is still significant work to be done on plot based on that
text - it really should stay as a road map for development.
