kompozer is a native snap package in all currently supported versions of Ubuntu. This snap package preserves the last available version of KompoZer from 2010, and allows KompoZer to be used on modern operating systems. KompoZer can be installed from the Software app or from the terminal with the following command:
The kompozer snap packager was not in the Snap Store when Ubuntu 16.04 was a supported release, so this was how to install KompoZer in Ubuntu 16.04 instead. Install the same packages you tried to install before except for libidl0. Open the terminal and type:
Ubuntu dropped Kompozer. I switched to Bluegriffon, an "I'll show you" type fork from one of the original authors of Nvu or Kompozer. But my laptop OS, OpenSuSE, didn't have Bluegriffon, it still had Kompozer. For how long, nobody knows. And of course there was the fact that Bluegriffon couldn't do certain things I was used to doing. And given the fact that the entire reason I used WYSIWYG HTML authoring tools was speed, and the fact that Bluegriffon was slowing me down, what the heck was I doing?

The things hadn't gone amazingly well early on, but so far, theresults are quite decent.

Now, we will examine the software side ofthe experience. After all, an operating system is only as good as its everyday usability. My primarydriver for buying and using this hefty machine is to prepare myself for the inevitable switch away from Windows, sometime in the future. To that end,everything must pop pop pop. It looks like you would want kompozer-data_0.8b3.dfsg.1-0.1ubuntu1_all.deb, and either kompozer_0.8b3.dfsg.1-0.1ubuntu1_i386.deb or kompozer_0.8b3.dfsg.1-0.1ubuntu1_amd64.deb depending on your architecture.
