did you guys see that there is now an OpenSocial Python client
library? It looks pretty new but exciting to see that folks are
working on it! http://code.google.com/p/opensocial-python-client/

Nice.

Pretty cool if you're building a widget in Plone and want get it used in
social networks.
Is anyone doing that? Or have a need to export content, views or portlets
from their Plone site into orkut etc?
Might be good for plone4artists for video sharing type apps?

Hi!

This seems more about the RESTful API though so it's maybe not that
useful for OpenSocial Gadgets (as they usually need to be JS anyway).
So that might be handy to access e.g. the MySpaceID APIs from a python
script (which I happened to do without that library the other day but
using REST and JSON is also not that difficulty. I also started my own
OAuth library as Leah's one is without tests, everything in one file
and no egg. But that actually just happened accidently when playing
around and trying to understand how OAuth works under the hood.)

So what still would be cool would be some OpenSocial container
implementation in Python but I assume that this is a bit more work
(besides that I still don't believe in gadgets too much and see more
the OpenSocial RESTful API as important for building an Open Web).

BTW, you might also want to listen into our new Data Without Borders

Cheers,
