As per my post on plone users, here's my thoughts on seperating out
the functionality.

- invite system. Flexible enough to be customised for both "add/import
friends" FOAF use case as well as "share this private content with
user with email address" ala google docs.

- social graph component. Stores and displays "friends" or other
relationships. Allows you add, remove, link to profiles of, invite.
I'd like it to handle both symetric and asymetric models of
relationship.

- opensocial integration component

- facebook api component

- Profile system. Public vs Private dashboards. Custom forms. There is
some code around for this sort of thing, membrane being one solution.
Needs some kind of privacy model.

- activity/actions logging/user rating - recording and aggregating
user acivity like facebook

- internal messaging. there must be plenty of solutions for that
already? Not sure if tagging users like in tagged.com would be modeled
as messages or content or relationships.

- facebook type walls should be able to be covered by plone comments
or discussion board tools?

Any other functionality?
