I apologize – I am not real technical and have volunteered to try and help out a local nonprofit – I am trying to get access to their error logs but for now all I get when I go to their site is this error – if anyone has any suggestions on where to start looking I would be appreciative.

Thanks,

Rick

Can you try starting plone in the foreground? "fg"

If you normally start it with:

./instance start

it'd then be,

./instance fg

Then, please provide a full traceback of the error.

If that isn't easy, please look into the logs and find the full traceback.

Other thoughts, did buildout last run correctly? Did you remember a required product. What version of plone? Do you have many addons, etc. Please try and provide more info for people to help with.

Hi Rick,

smells like a persistent-utility-error as f.e. described here by Roel
Bruggink:
http://blog.fourdigits.nl/removing-a-persistent-local-utility
http://blog.fourdigits.nl/removing-a-persistent-local-utility

If you're lucky, you can fix your problem comfortably with
http://pypi.python.org/pypi/wildcard.fixpersistentutilities/
wildcard.fixpersistentutilities .

This requires to have access to the filesystem though, do you?

Regards, Ida

To add to Nathan's comments, did they recently perform a migration to a more recent version of plone or move the website to a different server?  And, yes, more details please!
