Hi all,

I download the gplink followed the instruction. gplink.jar is a zip  file folder. I double clicked, no windows come out. I am using win 7 system and I unzipped the folder, there are four folders and no any .exe file or .jar file. I went back to run the plink1.07 which download from the same place, the java window jumped out but closed immediately. I thought that maybe the reason that I couldn't run the gplink? The instruction said to ask the manager. I am myself's manager. Could anyone met this before give me a clue?

I changed the security of JAVA to high, and my JAVA version is 1.8. I noticed that the website said the required version is 1.5, Higher JAVA version shouldn't be the problem. I know it's the setting of the computer, but I searched the web couldn't find any cure. I run plink half a year ago, never have this problem. This time, I just reinstalled the gplink, and then I couldn't start it.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

I just retried the download from Purcell's website and opened the .jar on my Mac.  Everything worked properly for me.

My system is win 7. I got Plink and Haploview running OK. Download the whole gplink and unzip gplink.jar and there is no any .exe file to run gplink. I tried twice, I suppose there should be a file to run gplink, shouldn't it?

Have you used Java programs before?  The .jar file should not be unzipped; it should simply be executed directly by Java.

I am so mad with this. I never met the situation like this. OK, here is the file I download to D:\ gPLINK-2.050.zip, I double clicked, then the gplink2.jar  come out. It is a WinRAR zipped file. I double clicked, then it start unzip, and then 4 folder come out:com, edu,META-INF and org. That' it. No any executable file. I followed download and installation the last suggestion: If not (and on all other platforms), typing at the command line prompt     java -jar gPLINK.jar, The window just blinked and disappeared. I don't think I did anything wrong. Help, help.....

I fixed the problem. Not double click the gplink.jar, just try to use open with Java, then it is. Hope to help others.
