Installation problems with latest version of pLink

Downloaded the latest pLink installer (properties says version 1.2 not latest announced 1.18), placed it into C:\ on a Win7 Pro 64-bit machine (i7-3820, 16 GB). Double-clicking brings up a small window with pLink followed by a string of Chinese characters and an "OK" button. Clicking on that brings up a larger window (snip attached) with another button. After clicking on that button the window disappears - no installation. Any ideas?

Hi,

I tried the latest version, and it is in English here, strange that it shows Chinese characters; I guess the small window said "A more recent version of pLink is already installed on this computer", and the next large window is for finish. May try to uninstall the old version and reinstall this one.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'd better hold off on uninstalling the version that works - got some data to search - and installing the one that communicates mostly in Chinese. I don't trust Googletranslate that much.
