So we've already talked about the fantastic single player of Splinter Cell: Conviction and while that is a great experience (albeit a little short) the co-op is even more awesome. Sam Fisher is bad ass, we know that, and yes even more bad ass then both Archer and Kestrel our duo of co-op super spies put together. However, the dynamic between the American and Russian agents is quite a bit of fun as you and a friend can take down enemies with coordination and conviction (see what I did there, hehe).

That's one of the most amazing things about this new Splinter Cell. Even though there are cut scenes where some cool stuff happens, it's the created choreography of you perfectly set up death trap that gives this game that "Holy Crap!" factor. There have been many moments where I've said aloud "Sweet zombie Jesus! Did I just pull that off?" And as many options as you may have had in the single player campaign, the artful ways you and a friend can deal out death in any of the co-op modes is incredible.

The quick story between Archer and Kestrel is just about as good as the story of Sam Fisher, I wont go into details but I enjoyed it just as much. What's special though is that while playing with a friend you can go down if you try something risky and not have to start over as your partner in death can revive you and continue - you can even defend him as he does so. Which to me is absolutely amazing.

The fact that you and your partner can mark and execute together is another fantastic option. I wish you could have up to 8 marks with two of you in the fray but alas it's still a max of 4 (so far). I can just imagine taking down a huge group of enemies in one crazy flourish. That's the thing about Splinter Cell: Conviction it does everything with quite a bit of style and that is just as true when you and your partner talk out a great mark and execute!

That being said, you need to play co-op with a friend. I have tried to play with some random person online and unfortunately more often then not, we either are not coordinating well or he/she is of the mind to play Rambo style which is very much the opposite of my Jason Bourne/Solid Snake style.

If you love the way the story plays then you'll love the different deniable ops games you can play though in a few different modes. Hunter is most like the story missions, you have to take out combatants by whatever means necessary. Infiltration is the pure splinter cell experience where you have to traverse a number of levels without being seen at all.

Face Off is simply the most fun I have had with a game in a long time. Instead of Archer and Kestrel working together to a common goal, it's Archer vs. Kestrel! You fight against a friend or someone online and it's an all out battle where you both have a certain amount of time to take out each other as well as the AI fodder for points. There's nothing like trying to stalk someone and kill them as they are trying to do the same to you. There's no pattern you can figure out, no oblivious AI who's basically looking at you and not able to see you. It pretty much puts the game on a whole new level. It's so much fun to take out a guy without him even knowing where you were, or watching as an AI combatant goes down from a head shot a few feet away and you're trying to figure out where the shot came from.

The Splinter Cell: Conviction co-op to me is the 4 inches of meat on a a great gaming manwich and it make it endlessly re-playable. Please, if you're a fan of stealth action games but have been put off by the idea of a short campaign, I beg you to reconsider and go get this game.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction is the fifth console game in the Splinter Cell franchise. It was released on April 13, 2010 in North America. In this next installment, Sam Fisher has left Third Echelon since the events of Double Agent and begins the story working by himself on his personal mission. In a drastic change from the previous games, Sam is perceived to be much quicker, stronger and far more brutal in his quest for truth. The game features several new gameplay elements and mechanics including Mark and Execute, which allows the player to target multiple enemies and instantly kill them when the player has a clear shot.

RTX Remix is a modding platform by NVIDIA, which allows modders to create stunning HD remasters of classic games (see all supported), with ray tracing and DLSS. Playing RTX mods requires a RT capable GPU. Learn more here.

Splinter Cell Conviction's official servers were shut down back in 2021, but thankfully like earlier Splinter Cell games that had multiplayer on PC it had and still has traditional LAN multiplayer functionality, we can use this to play with other people from around the world without needing to connect to official servers

This should also work without RadminVPN if you and your friend are both connected through the same network (eg: same wifi connection) but we'll use RadminVPN to make it also work on internet.

Update: Guide updated with a new fix

I've searched half the internet, downloaded several savegames, and used a hex editor, but I still can't figure out a seemingly simple thing: Unlocking the exclusive content for the Steam version that the players of the Uplay version just got unlocked. Especially the 3rd echolon map and the silenced shotgun.
There MUST be some way to do this!

I spent more time failing in the old splinter cell than I did winning in the new one. Sucked so bad at the originals but I tried and tried and got no where lol. Conviction I skipped through half asleep and gave up due to blandness. I got so much farther in conviction than I did in any of the others and did it in a fraction of the time cuz despite sucking at the old ones so bad they had mechanics and a feeling to them that I just would not give up on. Until I did lol. Conviction was just the same dumbed down stealth game that they keep releasing. New hitman new thief were pussy bland compared to the originals. I do like the new hitmans though. But yeah bland bitch stealth

Ubisoft pulled an EA-like move on Splinter Cell Conviction - stupefy the game for casual players with low expectations to make more money. It was a really stupid business move changing the formula of a great stealth, espionage game series. In the end, they made less money than they could have if they had started a new series separate from Splinter Cell.

The game isn't that bad. It's fun to play and definetly something new and innovative.
But I have to aggree that Conviction deserves its own series. I really miss the pure stealth gameplay from the older games.

what the hell are you talking about? Conviction was a great game, sure they made it easier, but it was much more fun that way. They made a lot of money off of it, and it got great reviews, just because you dont like it, doesnt mean the game ultimately fails...

Splinter Cell Conviction doesn't rock just because you love it. Most reviewers gave Conviction an 8/10 and many others gave it an even lower score. Conviction was okay, but not GREAT! I gripe when an obviously overrated game is labeled as innovative and great, adjectives that do not describe this game. Unfortunately, the easier = better trend is popular among young, casual video gamers. This trend for simplification has reduced the basis of what a good game is to "if it looks good and sounds nice, then its a great game." Naturally, this is a reaction to the previous, opposite trend - the more complex the game is, the better the game is.
