What do you see?

A toy or cartoon duck, frog, or monkey.

Who do you think the intended audience is?

Children aged 5-12 years old.

What does it remind you of? What do you think this article is about?

A crazy toy ad from times past.

How effective do you think this image is in addressing consumerism?

Not very. I don't understand it. It is too confusing and doesn't have
a clear argument or point.

I see a black and white image of an unclear object with animallike
qualities, with eyes, a nose, and a mouth. There is black and while
text across the image.

I'm not exactly sure who the intended audience is.

It reminds me of a cartoon character. It seems to be a commentary on
consumerism, mocking people who are very much into it.

I think it is very effective in addressing consumerism.

-A black and white ad with large and small text. larger text says "buy
me", small text says "i'll change your life". There is some kind of
object that resembles a face with eyes, nostrils, and a mouth with a
tongue sticking out

-Audience could be anyone that's looking for a change?

-It reminds me of a muppet or that geico ad with the money that has
eyes

-I think it could be a statement about consumerism, that people will
buy anything if you sell it to them since we don't really know what it
is.

Gizmo from the Gremlins is what it reminds me of.

I am not sure what the intended audience is. With respect to
consumerism, again I am unsure.

What do you see?
A frog puppet

Who do you think the intended audience is?
Adults.

What does it remind you of? What do you think this artwork is about?
Kermit the frog. How we as consumers are like puppets.

How effective do you think this image is in addressing consumerism?
Very effective. A puppets con be manipulated to do whatever you want
them to do.

I see:
Frog face mask lady that wants to be bought
It will change your life through some horrible frog mask magic

I think that the intended audience is:
Depraved souls

The artwork reminds me of:
Magazine ads in an upper-middle class current events or niche magazine

This artwork is about:
The creepiness of advertisement messages and their efficacy even when
they are creepy

This ad is effective in addressing consumerism:
It is fairly effective. Certainly eye-catching and shocking, maybe a
little too subtle for my simple mind.

A black and white image of a toy frog held by a man's hand with the
words Buy and Me in large type. The message "I'll change your life is
presented in a small banner that separates the artwork.

The intended audience seems to be average consumers.

It reminds me of a child's bath toy. The artwork seems to me to be
talking about the message that consumerism creates with middle and
lower classes; that purchasing an item is the way to improve your
life.

I think it makes a very simple and solid statement on the way that
goods are sold to consumers in America.

I see a black and white, somewhat distorted image of a duck-like
figure with a kind of crazy face. The image has the phrase "Buy Me"
written on it, with the quote "I will change your life."

> Who do you think the intended audience is?
This art is speaking to consumers (which would be almost everybody!)

> What does it remind you of? What do you think this artwork is about?
The ridiculouness of the character the aurthor uses, combined with the
quotes she uses, really draws the audience's attention to how absurb
the notion is that you can buy something that will change your life.

> How effective do you think this image is in addressing consumerism?
This image is effective because it points out how ridiculous it is to
claim that buying things will change your life. The character shown
is so silly and not important, it is ludacris to think that this item
could change your life.
