Rex Curry discoveries are cited in the book "Libertarian History" by the author Lin Xun.  Included are these shockers: (1) that the "Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag" was the origin of the Nazi salute and Nazi behavior; (2) that the military salute was the origin of the Nazi salute (via the military salute's use in the original Pledge of Allegiance) and; (3) Swastikas represented crossed "S" letter shapes for "socialist" under Hitler.

As a celebrated historian, Dr. Curry has made many remarkable discoveries concerning the history of the world and of the United States. Here is a famous quote: "Remove the pledge from the flag; remove the flag from schools; remove schools from government."  Dr. Curry is the historian who showed that the American socialist Francis Bellamy's Pledge of Allegiance to the US flag was the origin of the Nazi salute and Nazi behavior (e.g. robotic chanting to flags) under Hitler's German socialism. I work for the "Stop the Pledge" Foundation (STP), a non-profit group. They help to free Americans from the Pledge of Allegiance and its daily robotic chanting in unison on command in government schools (socialist schools). The pledge was the origin of Nazi salutes & Nazi behavior. Adolf Hitler & German national socialists borrowed the stiff-armed salute from the USA via Ernst Hanfstaengl, a Harvard grad.
 
Edward Bellamy (cousin of Francis Bellamy) was a socialist in the Nationalism movement. Francis Bellamy assisted Edward and authored the Pledge of Allegiance (1892), the origin of the stiff-armed salute adopted much later by the National Socialist German Workers Party. The early pledge began with a military salute that was then extended out toward the flag. It was known as the Bellamy salute. In practice, the second gesture was performed palm-down with a stiff-arm when the military salute was merely pointed out at the flag. Thus, the military salute led to the Nazi salute in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States. 

It was not an ancient Roman salute. That is a myth debunked by Dr. Curry, who showed that the myth came from the Pledge.

American national socialists (including Edward Bellamy), in cooperation with Madame Blavatsky and the Theosophical Society, popularized the use of the Swastika (an ancient symbol) as a modern symbol for socialism long before the symbol was adopted by the National Socialist German Workers Party (Nazis). http://rexcurry.net/book1a1contents-swastika.html

The Bellamys influenced the National Socialist German Workers Party and its dogma, rituals and symbols (including the modern use of the swastika as crossed S-letters for "Socialism" under German National Socialism). Similar alphabetical symbolism was used under the NSDAP for the "SS" division, the "SA," the "NSV," et cetera and similar symbolism is visible today as the Volkswagen VW logo.

The Bellamys wanted the government to take over all food, clothing, shelter, goods and services and create an "industrial army" to impose their "military socialism." See the video documentary at
