what's the best way to change the python test runner from unittest to pytest ?

Right now it's not possible - the runner is part of the test .pex and it doesn't know about pytest.

I think this is worth adding though, natpen mentioned it recently too. I'm not very familiar with it so I'm a little unsure if it's best as a swappable option or just replacing the existing unittest-xml-reporting stuff.
