Job Details and Responsibilities:
Seeking a Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to assist with a series of innovative strategic initiatives for the Michigan Department of Education (MDE), Division of Accountability Services (DAS). The

initiatives include the development of new assessments and process improvements to existing assessments. These assessments include Early Literacy, State Summative, Michigan Merit, Students with Disabilities, and English Learners. This development will also include a comprehensive Educational Assessment Reporting and Accountability Program to provide timely measurement and reporting of educational assessment results. The person in this role will work closely with business users and the internal and external project teams to analyze business requirements in order to create project testscenarios and provide feedback on the actual system implementation of the business logic. You will create test plans, test cases, and will participate in user acceptance testing to ensure that the highest quality products are released to production.  Projected tasks are:
Design, document and execute test procedures
Conduct test entry reviews and record and document test results
Manage all aspects of User Acceptance Testing
Participate in business requirements documentation reviews to extract test scenarios

Required / Desired Skills:
Microsoft SQL Server / T-SQL direct hands-on experience with ad hoc query programs - 5 to 8 years+ experience
Data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities - 5 years minimum experience
Ability to communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management - 5 years minimum experience
Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies - 5 years minimum experience
Proficiency with all MS Office and Visio applications - 5 years minimum experience
Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle and related methodologies (e.g. CMMI, Agile, or other industry standard) - 5 years minimum experience
Direct experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of quality assurance standards for software testing - 7 years minimum experience
