11.3.3 Practice: Environmental Journalism

An environmental issue is habitat destruction. Habitat destruction is where humans take over or destroy other species home. During this time, the animals that were living there are displaced or destroyed. Animal protection programs are trying to save the animals by putting them on the wildlife reservations. Also, many citizens all around the United States are volunteering to monitor the environment around their homes. When they report this information, it helps identify the causes and prevents any more damage to the environment. Also many people that own bodies of water or large amounts of land are preventing fishing and hunting to be done on their land.
