1.) Draw a diagram of Earth that labels its mechanical layers on one side and its composition layers on the other side.
ANSWER: I TURNED IN PAPER COPY BECAUSE IT HAD TO BE DRAWN.

2.) Fill in the table with information about the different types of boundaries.
ANSWER: I TURNED IN PAPER COPY BECAUSE IT HAD TO BE DRAWN.

3.) There are alternate explanations for the forces behind plate movement.

A.) What is "slab-pull"?
ANSWER: A tectonic plate motion due to higher densities.

B.) What is "slab-push"? Give one example of a slab-push structure.
ANSWER: It is a plate tectonics's movement. Earth's tectonic plates are rigid slab's of rock.

C.) Which is the stronger force behind plate movement?
ANSWER: Slab-pull

4.) Volcanoes are usually found near subduction zones.
A.) Why do you usually find volcanoes near subduction zones?
ANSWER: Because one of the plates get pushed up creating a volcano or mountain.
B.) Draw a diagram to assist your explanation. Make sure you label crust, subduction zone, magma, volcano, and the direction of plate movement.
ANSWER: I TURNED IN PAPER COPY BECAUSE IT HAD TO BE DRAWN.

5.) What are four pieces of evidence Alfred Wegener used to support his theory of continental drift?
ANSWER:
- shape of continents
- fossil evidence
- glacial evidence
- similar rocks found in different continents.

6.) Wegener's theory of continental drift was not accepted by all scientists.
A.) What was the main counterargument against Wegener's evidence?
ANSWER: There was NO drift.
B.) What information did Wegener not have that would have strengthened his argument?
ANSWER: About continental drift.

7.) It is thought that all the continents used to be part of one super-continent.
A.) How did a super-continent form?
ANSWER: The super continent, pang ea was formed before the tectonics plates shifted to its current locations. That meaning, all the land was stuck together in one big thing.
B.) What caused it to break up after it formed?
ANSWER: The tectonic plates.
