There was a vibrant community online in the late 90s early 2000s. I wonder where you all went? Kevin?

It looks like hex is still going strong at littlegolem.net. Reading
the Hex & Havannah forum on that site, it sounds like there are even
tournaments being organized, in Europe (unfortunately for me).

A pretty high fraction of the games played on iggamecenter.com are hex, too.

There is also pbem server where there are (currently 320) hex games in play: http://www.gamerz.net/pbmserv/List.php?Hex

But littlegolem is the only place where a forum is active.

I'm still living at the same (eastern California) location I was at when I
discovered Playsite 15 or so years ago.  I still play Hex, not that I've
gotten any better at it.  <sigh>

Bill LeBoeuf in Pennsylvania and ypercube in Greece, Playsite members
from way back when, are both still playing Hex on littlegolem.net .

I miss the real-time play we had on Playsite and the small, friendly
Hex community we had there.

When Playsite went down, the end began. I sometimes look for online
HEX, but only find the silly games with 'HEX' in them. I changed to
poker as my primary diversion.

I was dj11 or dj13 or any of several other names back then.

What about Littlegolem, iggamecenter, gamerz.net/pbmserv?

I remember you, DJ. I was "00_00" on playsite, I think. I'm just ryansarkela on littlegolem.net, now.

I was typo on playsite, but didn't have a huge presence.

I'm here, and still moderating this Google Group, though there hasn't been any activity except this query in a long time.

I've focused on a couple of other games -- for research, not entertainment -- since my retirement.  I've published a solver for Chomp, and a Note about it in ICGA Journal.  I'm currently working on Qubic, which is a lot harder, because I'm not sure I'll live long enough for serious progress on Hex.

I would love to tackle 10x10 hex, however, and maybe with the experience in Qubic, I'll take it up again.

Meanwhile, when I've tried to find online hex, I find games but no opponents.  I haven't tried all that hard, though.

You love table of Hex with side of 10 boxes: visit massimodacasto.net.

I entered into a conversation with this author.  The page purported to be a simple set of rules to win 10x10 hex.  Of course there was no swap rule and his rules began by going in the center, as has been true of some verified solutions on smaller boards, but I was still more than a little suspicious of the rules' simplicity.  They were also a bit vague, but as they were a translation into English I could not be sure this was true of the original.  The author entered into a game with me, In which he played three times.  At this point, I thought he was already losing and told him so, pointing out what I thought were the reasons.  I have not heard from him in about a week.

Now I find the site and its associated blog are down. No surprise here.

The same author had made similar claims a few years ago, in a littlegolem thread. He disappeared a few days/weeks later.
I'll update here, if I manage to find that post.
