Folks,

The new version fo the scala module is our biggest release so far, a
few highlights:

- implemented a new compiler which is now tracking dependencies
properly
- added a ton of missing test cases (you can find the tests in yabe-
with-scala/test and just-testcases/test)
- introduced continuous integration
- added scaladoc (this will be published starting from the next
version)
- fixed bugs related to scalatest integration
- introduced new traits for unit and functional testing
- added Mailer support
- fixed return type inference issues in Controllers
- introduced scala specific Cache API
- introduced scala utils (play.utils.Scala)
- polished controller API (introducing renderHtml, renderXml)
- fixed a few issues regarding the model API (for example: API
chaining issues)
- introduced Option types for Models
- reimplemented scala console using Play’s invocation context

grab it while it's hot!

Cheers,
Peter & Guillaume

Hello,

That's a good news !

But, do you think future dev of play will be oriented to scala or it will continue to be on both java and scala ?

Best,

Hi Vincent,

I can not speak for the core team but my opinion is that it is very
likely that it will stay this way (ie scala will stay as a module)
with the addition of refactoring play core to be more welcoming to
different JVM languages.

just my 2c
