Hello,

Perhaps there is a place where a PDF version of Play! doc is available ?
If not, do you know how to generate a PDF from the textile documentation ?

I think it could be nice if the Play! release packager add such a PDF documentation in the release archive, it's easiest to read off-line.

Regards,
Cyrille.

I've found the place http://download.playframework.org/miscellaneous/, but it contains the 1.1 manual, nor the 1.2.1.

Cheers

You can simple start any app and call localhost:9090/@documentation to
read it offline.

Thanks. I've already bought it.

Anyway, I think it will be nice if the Texttile to PDF transformation is added to the release process.

Regards
Cyrille.

That's true, but I find it annoying that I have to have a compiling/working app before I can go and read the documentation, and of course it's exactly when my app isn't working that I want to read the docs...
I could create an empty app just for reading the docs, but that's not really workable either i think.

So from my point of view, bundling a pdf version of the documentation would indeed be a good idea.

I think that is a very good point. I am not sure if the way Play works could be changed to allow /@api and /@documentation to be processed prior to any compilation, as I too have had the issue where I have had to use the documentation at the playframework.org, when my app has failed to compile for whatever reason.
