Since the scala-module can be used with a production ready version of
Play, yes you can now use scala for a production application. However
the documentation is not accurate and the development workflow is
still less polished than the java version.
The main problem currently is the Hibernate component that doesn't
match with Scala. That's why we are working on a new data access
component before rewriting the sample applications, updating the
tutorial, completing the documentation and releasing a dedicated
website.
All these tasks will be completed during the next weeks.
