aproach and also wish to learn your data retrieving and other
techniques if possible (maybe you use postgres or mongodb or
cassandra ?).

It's heavy in Graphics and might be slow if your connection is not that good. In their case the data rendering step usually takes less than 3 ms. Data retrieving is another story. One of their favorite features is the page fragment cache support (
http://wiki.github.com/branaway/Japid/server-side-include-with-japid) and they tend to over-use it.
