Hey guys! This is the rough outline for next week's broadcast that we discussed.

The main theme: Does the U.S. have a right to meddle in the world's affairs?
-Four inner points:
1.) Syria -- should the U.S. be sending aid? What is this "aid"? Who are we giving it over to anyway? Does the U.S. and the U.N. have a responsibility to help these people in plight? But what if it ends up like the Mujahideen of Afghanistan all over again? Compare to N.A.T.O. in Libya.
2.) Hard power -- should we be attacking Iran, North Korea, re-invading Somalia (as there has been talk of)? How have the U.S.'s policies of Hard Power gone over over the past few decades? At what point must we interfere? Comparison to Nazism and WWII.
3.) The Nuclear club -- who gets the nukes? Why do the U.S. and Israel and others get nuclear power, while we deny Iran? What gives us the right to determine who is allowed and who is not? Should there be more or less nuclear power in the world?
4.) Your choice! Find a topic relating to the U.S. meddling in the world's affairs. This could be based on current events or just on some particular article of interest. Find it!

Also, don't forget to send in your stories (3 minimum) connected to this outline and the four subjects before Saturday night! Like last time, please find some current events, write up a little blurb about them, and ask some leading questions you think would be good for DEBATE.

We want this show to be hot, people! Come on! GET MAD!

We look forward to hearing from you : )

I am so sorry for my late submission.

I am attaching three articles. The first is about how the last Western detainee at Guantanamo is being sent back to his native country of Canada to finish his sentence. We can discuss the internal implications of this move, his age at the time of his capture, and we can also discuss the fact that there are still people let in the prison.

The second article is about how the Obama Administration and Netanyahu have come to an agreement about dealing with Iran. We can discuss the pros and cons of this agreement, the impact this has on the international community, and how this may impact Obama's re-election effort. This is interesting because this is, I believe, the first time the two have come to an explicit agreement about how to handle the volatile situation in Iran.

The third article I am attaching is about how each of the candidates have a mission they are entering the debates with. This is open ended and the missions can be discussed. Both sides need to energize the base and appeal to the undecided voters in the swing states. I heard on CNN today that people are hoping Romney explains his economic plan.

Thank you and I, again, apologize for the delay.

Max

Max: it's on the Facebook group! We stopped using the Google group and switched to Facebook because it was easier on everyone to remember to check it. Find me on Facebook and I'll add you.

Attached is this week's script. Also: thanks for notifying us about the fact that you have to leave early this Wednesday.

Amy,

Thank you very much. I thought we stopped using this group, but I was not sure because I did not see that I was added to the FaceBook group. If Ilian added me, I did not realize it; if that is the case, I apologize for not seeing it. I will add you tomorrow. Thank you for attaching the script; you are welcome about Wednesday.

Thank you,

Max
