How To Design a Master Bedroom With Two Beds Inside

When organizing your master bedroom, you want it to look nice and put together. Trying to design a master bedroom with two beds inside adds an extra challenge that can be difficult to navigate. Here are some options for how to make your master bedroom still look perfect even with two beds.

Mirror the Room

The first option you can consider is mirroring the two sides of the room. With two beds and a large space like a master bedroom, this is made possible. Mirroring a room makes it so the space can still look nice and put together while being simple to make happen.

For this, you just need two sets of everything for each side of the room. Have two of the same bed, dresser, nightstands, etc. You place them on opposite sides of the room, mirrored. It looks nice and complete.

The main issue is that it can feel detached. A mirrored look adds no personality to the space and gives many the same feeling as a college dorm. You can add your touch to give some personality to this option to fight against that.

Two Twins Make a King

Depending on what you need, two twin beds can be combined to create a king-sized mattress. If the two beds you have can be pushed together, you can simply create a larger mattress.

For this option, push the beds together and throw the covers over top. Not only are you eliminating the two-bed issue, but you are also solving some other commonly found issues for people who share beds.

Your bed now has designated spaces for each person so you won’t be fighting over sides. With each side of the bed, you can have two different styles of mattress to suit each person's individual needs. This includes the mattress itself, but also the sheets, the covers, and the pillows.

If you already have the two beds, it can also just be a good money saver. The main thing to consider though is that if the beds are not secured together very well, there will be someone who slips into the crack at some point.

Have Canopy Beds

If neither of those options is to your liking, you should consider canopy beds. Canopy beds from many of our childhoods are coming back into style with a new, more sophisticated touch.

Canopies on beds add a more whimsical and unique feeling to any bedroom, but especially in a master bedroom with two beds. These canopies can be as childlike or as elegant as you prefer with many different options and styles to explore.

Not only do they add a bit of personality to each bed, but they also allow for added privacy whenever needed. The main drawback is that many do still associate canopies with being childlike, but with so many new options, it is easy to combat that.
