Hello there!

I'm fairly new to Plastic (comming from Mercurial) and I'm having trouble starting a new version controlled workspace.
The thing is, i'm used to create a new repository at Bitbucket and then pull it to my PC. Now I just can't find any server
hosting services through the web. Do I really have to setup my own PlasticSCM server in order to actually start working? :(

Sorry if this is a noob question. I just wanted to try it out.

Thanks!

Hi Matheus,

Thanks for reaching us! :-)

Yes, you *do* have to install your own plastic server. The good news is that it will take you like 10 seconds overall (ok, maybe 50 depending on how fast you click on 'next' :P).

Consider it like just the way to host your own local repositories, that's all.

I'll be available over the weekend if you have any questions.

Thanks!

pablo

Whoa! That was an impressive quick answer!
Thank you very much for the reply! (and sorry for not being able to respond accordingly)

So, in other words, in order to work with a team we just need to grab a computer and turn it into our PlasticSCM server?

Thank you, very much!

Hi Matheus

Yes, that's correct! :-)

One note: it seems this list doesn't have much traffic, so maybe it is better if you go to our forum at www.plasticscm.net.

I'm fine answering here, btw, just in case.

Thanks,

pablo

Hi again!

again, thanks for the answer! It just clarifies a lot!
Maybe we will start using PlasticSCM.

Thanks again,
Matheus
