Is anyone planning to have a Plastic Bag Free day this year?

Our group would like to do something this year, as long as it's not too soon.

I've found a couple of references to events gone or soon:

http://www.sustainableguernsey.info/blog/2010/05/international-plastic-bay-free-day-is-3-july-2010/

http://www.noplasticday.org/

I have these domain names:
www.plasticbagfreeday.org
www.plasticfreeday.org
Both these currently redirect to the MCS:

I can update the redirect if there's a better new location.

I was about to ask the same question! I've already been asked if we're
going to do more bag-making workshops and I'm kind of assuming that
there will be a national PBF Day, even if it's just us in the forum,
and that it will be the same weekend as last year i e 11-12 September
(I'd prefer the Saturday as I can get a free pitch outside the parish
church in the town centre, but maybe not on a Sunday.

I'm also collecting ideas for a green display in July, aimed at new
councillors (and anyone else who walks by in the Council building) and
quite keen to broaden out to plastic packaging (not recyclable round
here and so filling our landfill bins) and plastic bottles, which
cause at least as much litter as plastic bags even though they are
recyclable. Does anyone have any shock-horror figures about how many
plastic bottles we each get through per year?
