Hi John. Thanks for organizing this group and pursuing this critical
issue.

My main comment at the moment would just be my concern with gathering
the pieces - a huge problem is the minuscule plastic particles
entering the ocean animals' body systems and affecting their
metabolism and hormonal balance. The very act of attempting to gather
large particles will break the plastic down into the dangerous small
particles.

Also - how do you ensure that the trash will not re-enter the ocean
after years? I saw you recommend recycling the trash, and if that is
feasible, it sounds good.

I'll try to check back here regularly and support you as I can (I do
terrestrial biology - as such, I'm mostly land-based AND poor).

I certainly support doing SOMETHING, however small some persons' may
consider. Every big movement begins small, and I support your efforts,
John (et al)!!

The ship Design I have will work the clean up in 3 stages On the Bow
the Over Size (larger then 3ft)will get hulled aboard and placed in
Cargo Contains. along both sides of the ship a platform is lowered to
the surface a wire frame conveyor belt on the front of the platform
then lowers into the water scoping up the medium size pieces (between
2in and 4ft) checked for sea life the sent up to the ship to be sorted
by recycling center. at the aft of the ship pumps pull the water onto
the ship where smaller pieces (less the 4in) will be screened and
checked for sea life the water and sea life are then returned to the
sea behind the ship more detail on each stage of the clean proses is
Coming there is just a lot of work to do and very little time to write
it all down. I have only been on this for about 3 week and some of
that time was while I aws in the Hospital after my Kidney Surgery.
