Hi everyone,
I've been considering writing a series of tutorials that focus on the
creation of 2D game art. In the last few months, it's become clear to
me that there are a lot of artists and non-artists who want to make
graphics for their games, but there are some non-obvious technical and
aesthetic tricks that make the creation of 2D game art more difficult
than it has to be.
Here are some topics I'm considering covering:
-Sprite animation techniques
-Tiling background art
-Non-tiling background art
-Styles and color palettes for maximum screen readability
-Special effects and particles
-Precision alignment: guides, grids, and offsets
-User interface art
-Alpha channels and anti-aliasing
-Graphics creation "recipes"
Would articles on these topics be useful to you? Which are you most
interested in? Am I missing anything?
Thanks!
Jacob
