"The earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein" (Psalm 24:1).

We believe that God has called us to plant a church in Alameda, CA. Though we'll encounter many trials and obstacles along the way, we believe that all the world—including Alameda and the Bay Area—and all who live here belongs to God. We can ask our Father for anything we need, knowing he's both able and willing to answer us in Christ.

Requests
There are a few general requests that will keep coming up here, as well as a few more specific and immediate ones. Please join us in prayer this week in the following ways:
  • Pray for people in Alameda – I am praying specifically that God would bring 10 people to faith in the first year of our church plant. It is a scary thing to pray for in many ways, but God saved 3,000 people in one day at Pentecost (Acts 2:41). Surely he can save 10 in one year!
  • Pray that God would build the plant team – Pray that God would build his church in this early stage by calling people to commit to being part of the plant team. Pray that he would build up those whom he does call in faith and readiness for the work.
  • Pray for wisdom and dependence upon the Holy Spirit – It is tempting to try and do this work in our own strength, but the only thing that will is last is what God does in Christ by his Spirit. Pray against this temptation in our hearts!
  • Pray for the Lockes' transition to Alameda – Pray that God would provide us a place to live in Alameda. This is a big one for us since: 1) we want to have people over a LOT; 2) we don't have a lot of money to spend on rent; and 3) it is expensive to rent a place in Alameda where we could have people over a lot. Our God is able; please pray for his provision.

Updates!
Please join us for prayer on Good Friday in Alameda from 6-7am (I know, it's crazy early. But we can all suffer a tiny bit in prayer on the day our Lord suffered all for our sake) in the Harbor Bay Parkway Business Park. Please contact me for more specifics (contact info below).

If you are interested in being part of the plant team or know of someone who may, please don't hesitate to let me know. I would love to meet with you and pray with you to see if the Lord is calling you to join with us.

Blessings in Christ,
Jeff
