hello everyone. i am new to this group, joined just now, so i hope u
dont think to poorly of my by entering this new topic.
i read the conclusions about the establishment of the roles of ABA, and
other growth regulators. i think that they make sense since u need an
accurate balance of both cytokinin and auxin to achieve a certain kind
of morphogenesis.
i am working on somatic embryogenesis and have arrived to a balance
that can produce somatic embryos of flax in a two cell suspension
system. i will now introduce ABA to try and make the embryos dormant
and resistant to drought. im still wondering about the amount of ABA to
use. if anyone can advice...

Sound like and exciting challenge. I was only involve in the most
abstract of theoretical concepts with only some thought to actual
physical quantities although I did carry out three years worth of
experimentation and read papers for four years in libraries. After
that it was the thought experiment route that Einstein took if you can
believe it for my speculative theories seen in this group and at
http://www.planthormones.info. So far the only recognition the ideas
have had is 250 or so comment from around the world in the guest book
of some note and a 2nd prize for student posters at the 2004 Western
Plant Growth Regulator Society Conference (http://www.wpgrs.com/ -
award is not listed here but this is the society).
