Aloha! - http://www.aspb.org/pb-2009

We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for Plant
Biology 2009, the joint annual meeting of the American Society of
Plant Biologists and the Phycological Society of America. The deadline
for early-bird registration is April 24, 2009. Members of both
societies qualify to register at member rates.

For this meeting we are also delighted to partner with the following
organizations, whose members are invited to register at member rates.

Australian Society of Plant Scientists, Botanical Society of Korea,
Canadian Society of Plant Physiologists, Chinese Society of Plant
Physiologists, Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists, New Zealand
Society of Plant Biology.

Abstract submission is also open. During abstract submission you will
have the option of selecting from ASPB or PSA categories. You may
also choose to have your abstract considered for a presentation. To be
considered for inclusion in an oral presentation, submit an abstract
by February 13, 2009. All abstracts submitted are accepted for
posters.

ASPB is also accepting applications for travel grants to Plant Biology
2009. Applications must be submitted electronically this year. The
deadline for submission is January 2, 2009.

For individuals traveling from outside of the U.S., we recommend
applying for a visa at least 4 months in advance. Check to see if
your country is on the Visa Waiver Program (VWP).

Housing is also now open. Rooms are very limited so be sure to
reserve early. The heavily discounted rate at the Hilton Hawaiian
Village Beach Resort will only be available until June 1, 2009 or
until sold out.

New this year, a carbon offset program will be available for
attendees. Details will be announced soon!

A limited post-meeting workshop is available this year on "C3 to C4: A
Workshop to Evaluate Strategies for Engineering C4 Photosynthesis into
C3 Plants". This workshop is listed at an additional fee on the
registration form. More details will be forthcoming.

Again this year, ASPB's Education Committee seeks new and creative
techniques, technologies, or strategies to teach plant science in the
laboratory, classroom, or during outreach events. Find out more about
the Education Booth Competition.

Check out the Plant Biology 2009 web page for all information on the
meeting - http://www.aspb.org/pb-2009. We look forward to seeing you
in Honolulu!

Mahalo,
