We are hiring doctoral students to work on topics in automated planning and automated reasoning with applications in software production. These are multi-year positions with a full salary. The research takes place at Aalto University, on its main campus close to central Helsinki. Highly qualified candidates preferably with a M.Sc. degree and preferably a completed thesis in AI, CAV, automated reasoning, or related areas in computer science, are encouraged to apply.
The computer science department at Aalto University is the strongest CS department in Northern Europe and also a leading one at the European level, with about 45 professors and research groups, and Artificial Intelligence as one of its focus areas. Helsinki is one of the cities very high on international rankings on livability, and Finland is similarly at the top of "Happiest countries" and very high in other rankings that measure the quality of living.
