Amazon Robotics is looking for talented Postdoctoral Scientists to join our Movement Science team for a one-year, full-time research position. This position provides an opportunity to perform cutting-edge research in multi-robot planning and control, using Amazon’s newly developed Proteus autonomous robots.

Our team studies algorithms for efficient motion planning and coordination of Amazon’s mobile robots. Particular emphasis is placed on coordinating the motions of large fleets of robots in tightly constrained conditions. We are driven by system-level problems, where a new algorithm can unlock a new solution design, fix a significant shortcoming, guarantee performance under varying conditions, or improve how complex tradeoffs are made. Topics of interest for this position include, but are not limited to: single and multi-robot motion planning and control, combined motion and task planning, scheduling, heuristic search, and machine learning.

The ideal candidate has is about to or has recently completed their PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics or a similar field, and has a keen ability to elicit challenging research questions from application settings. The PhD must have been received within 2 years of starting the program.

This position is part of a larger recruitment across Amazon - please specify your interest in the Movement Science position in your cover letter. The location of the position is North Reading, MA (Boston metropolitan area). Please apply at the following link: https://www.amazon.jobs/en/jobs/2316081/postdoctoral-scientist

Candidates will be considered until the position is filled.
