Doctor Christopher Patterson is a Colorado native that grew up in a small town near Boulder, Colorado. His lovely wife Tara is also a Colorado native and grew up in Littleton. Together they have three beautiful and rowdy sons. As a family, they love to travel, ski, and enjoy Colorado outdoors.

The best kids dentist EVER! No drugs were needed to fill my daughters two cavities, not even a numbing needle because he uses child drills and filling when possible. Filling her two cavities only took ten minutes, and she was in zero pain or discomfort. She even laid in my lap while he did it, making sure to play games with her often.

Compassionate, professional. I have a little boy with ADHD, it has been very difficult trying to get him to sit in the chair at the pediatric dentist. The hygienist was understanding and very easy to work with. We had to have some dental work done, and my son was given anesthesia. The team was compassionate and we were well taken care of.

We offer pediatric dentistry for kids in Aurora and Denver in a comfortable and caring environment that is calm and friendly and when your visit is over, your child will leave our office with a brighter smile.

A pediatric dentist specializes in the oral health care needs of children from infancy through young adulthood. In addition to four years of standard dental school, pediatric dentists complete an additional two to three years of advanced pediatric dentistry specialty training to prepare them to treat younger patients.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommend that parents should bring their child to a pediatric dentist by 1 year of age or within 6 months of the first tooth erupting. The pediatric dentist team at Epic Dentistry for Kids recommends the same.

Pediatric dentist have additional training in patient behavior guidance, additional options or approaches to examine and treat children in ways that make them comfortable, and care of the medically and developmentally compromised patient. This is necessary for the safety and comfort of young patients.

A pediatric dentist that is board certified has gone through a rigorous testing process with he American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. A board certified pediatric dentist demonstrate an exceptional knowledge and expertise at a standard not possessed by other dentist.

A pediatric dentist focuses on the oral development and cleaning of adolescence teeth and mouth. They focus specifically on the mouths and teeth of those who are infants into teen years. We suggest taking your child to see a pediatric dentist in Aurora.

The difference between a general dentist and a pediatric dentist in Aurora is that pediatric dentists specialize in teeth of infants through teens. These mouths are developing and growing, so pediatric dentists complete the extra required schooling and residencies to be able to practice. We recommend a pediatric dentist see your child!

The cost of visiting a kids dentist in Aurora ranges between $30 to $60 depending on the office and if you have insurance to help you with visit costs. If there is any extra work needed like cleanings, x-rays, etc., then the prices can be higher.

In slightly over two years, PDS converted more than 9.7 million patient records from its existing practice management software to Epic. The dental support organization also spent nearly 16,000 hours on EHR training for almost 14,000 team members and clinicians.

"Whether the patients of PDS' supported practices go to the dentist's office, a clinic, or a hospital, their providers can now review their dental history along with the rest of their medical history from one record in Epic," said Judy Faulkner, Founder and CEO of Epic. "Our collaboration with PDS supports the connection between dental and medical care, creating a more comprehensive approach to health."

"Oral healthcare is a critical component of overall health, and this investment has enabled our supported clinicians and their patients to more fully participate in the promise of a seamless, comprehensive healthcare system focused on whole-body health," said Stephen E. Thorne IV, founder, and CEO of Pacific Dental Services.

As a result of the implementation, PDS-supported clinicians can now digitally share important patient health information leading to closed gaps in care, reduced instances of duplicate health records, and improved care continuity for patients.

Additionally, the Epic deployment intends to improve the early identification of diseases, such as diabetes, based on gum and oral health changes, which can lead to stronger medical collaboration and improved patient outcomes.

Compartmentalized health data, where records are only accessible to providers on the same platform, was a significant challenge for PDS during the implementation process. To address this challenge, PDS worked with Epic to enhance and optimize Wisdom, Epic's dental module.

Epic Systems is leading the way among EHR vendors as it is the most widely used system. In 2022, KLAS named the EHR vendor Epic as the top Overall Software Suite in its Best in KLAS 2022 report for the 12th consecutive year.

At Epic Dentistry, we are using breakthrough technologies to treat and diagnose our patients, and then provide a gentle, no needle experience.

In just over two years, Irvine, Calif.-based PDS converted more than 9.7 million patient records from its existing practice management software to Epic, spent 16,000 hours training almost 14,000 team members and clinicians, integrated the new software with existing human resources, revenue cycle management, and financial systems, and completed deployment to more than 885 individual supported practices across 25 states.

In its effort to advocate for better collaboration between medical and dental professionals, one of the main challenges PDS faced was compartmentalized health data, where records are only accessible to providers on the same platform. To combat this problem, PDS collaborated with Epic as a lead partner in the dental space more than four years ago to enhance and optimize Epic's dental module, Wisdom, to better support a nationwide organization.

"Oral healthcare is a critical component of overall health, and this investment has enabled our supported clinicians and their patients to more fully participate in the promise of a seamless, comprehensive healthcare system focused on whole-body health," said Stephen E. Thorne IV, founder and CEO of Pacific Dental Services, in a statement.

PDS notes that Epic holds more than 250 million patients' current electronic health records. The system is used by leading hospitals, healthcare systems and medical schools, and a number of dental schools have also begun transitioning their systems to Epic.

PDS said its supported clinicians can now digitally share health information about their patients with other healthcare professionals, closing care gaps, reducing duplication and promoting better overall health.

"Whether the patients of PDS' supported practices go to the dentist's office, a clinic, or a hospital, their providers can now review their dental history along with the rest of their medical history from one record in Epic," said Judy Faulkner, founder and CEO of Epic, in a statement.
