Glenys started her working career as a receptionist and through demonstration of her natural talents with people within 2 years she was a Social Worker. Through her networking abilities, the General Manager from Ericsson Telecommunications saw her potential and offered her the Ericsson Agency on the Gold Coast. With no prior Telecommunications experience the thought was daunting, but she took it on.
In 1987 Glenys was the first woman in Australia to own a telecommunications agency, an industry that was predominantly male dominated. It was not long before Glenys’s company Modern Communications Systems P/L was second in overall sales of medium to large PABX telephone systems in Australia and number one in the country for after sales maintenance contracts.
After selling her business and leaving the telecommunications industry she ventured into the media industry as an all-rounder including on air personality, where she developed strong community ties.
Glenys’s community work included Gawad Kalinga Philippines which now has 2,800 housing complex’s that not only provides housing but breaks the generational bondages of poverty setting people free to find their potential in life and make a difference.
She worked effortlessly as Vice President of Rockhampton’s Mayoress Regional Charity Foundation with the organization of major fundraising events assisting many community groups with much needed funding. She was a dedicated committee member of the ‘Crime Prevention and Safety Committee’.
From early childhood Glenys has been aware of her spiritual gifts and has always had a desire to make a positive difference in individual lives, families, cultural groups and the world . Her favorite motto is:
