Thank for this Herb! As you point out this is the third major US academic/think tank to support direct cooling, including the National Academy of Science (2021) and the American Meteorological Society (2022). We should use this to claim that dirrct cooling is now officially part of the “mainstream” discussion in the US.

Yes that’s right. 

There’s also the recent report from C2G2- Carnegie climate governance initiative - that lays out a risk / risk framework for evaluating SRM. (Minimizing however the overwhelming and unacceptable risks of the emission reductions  alone (ERA) pathway the world continues to adhere to.)

Now we need to get John Kerry and / or the state department to come out in support of SRM as suggested in the Inside Climate News report some months ago that  the US attempted to have SRM more prominently and positively discussed in this year‘s IPCC reports.
